James Thibodeaux, Pastor and Priest
Fr. James came to St. Christopher’s in 2014. He is a native of Sonoma County, California, and grew up attending several Evangelical Christian churches. In 2002 he was confirmed in the Episcopal Church. In 2006 Fr. James graduated from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia with a Master of Divinity in 2006 and from General Theological Seminary (Episcopal) in 2008 with a Master of Sacred Theology in Anglican Studies. He has been serving as a priest in the Diocese of Olympia since 2008.
To St. Christopher’s, Fr. James brings a passion for engaging and beautiful worship; a love of Holy Scripture, history, and theology; and the Spirit’s ministry emphasizing God’s love and grace through Christ Jesus. He lives in the Steamboat Community with his wife Annaka and their two children.
Patti Sells, Deacon
Patti Sells has been serving as the deacon at St. Christopher’s since January of 2012. She was ordained in 2001 at the Cathedral in Salt Lake City and served there until moving to Washington in 2003. Her ministry in Salt Lake focused on homelessness issues as she managed a food bank and the street ministry for the Cathedral as staff. Patti most recently served as deacon at St. David’s in Shelton, and she presently works two part time jobs there: for United Way as the Asset Building Coordinator, focusing on financial literacy classes, and also for the Mason County Housing Coalition.
Tiff West-Schaub, Office Manager
While eight months pregnant with her first son, Tiffany West-Schaub (Tiff for short), and her husband John all but stumbled into St. Christopher’s Church in the fall of 2012. The St. Christopher’s community quickly surrounded her and John with tremendous support. Tiff fell in love with the community in Olympia and loves to help make connections between people and resources in the community,
especially for other families of small children. Tiff grew up in New Mexico (NM) and earned a BS in Management and an MBA at New Mexico State University. She has worked as an assistant and analyst for a CFO of a private firm as well and as a budget analyst with state government in NM. Additionally she volunteered extensively with Habitat for Humanity. Tiff uses her organization savvy, her analytical skills and her approachable demeanor to help St. Christopher’s run smoothly.
Jeff Sprengel, Musician
Jeff Sprengel has been serving as musician at St. Christopher’s since 1987. He is a native of Olympia and leads weekly worship from the organ and piano and also directs the church’s choir.

The Vestry Council works with the pastor and other church staff in tending to the shared mission and ministry of the congregation. Terms of service are three years and involve a commitment to the mission of the congregation, to faithfully attending monthly meetings, and to being an active member of the community.
